Abstract

This study aims to determine improved reading skills of children in group B TK Kwarasan III Grogol, Sukoharjo regency, after the application method roudhoh cantol in the academic year 2015/2016. This research study shaped Classroom (Classroom Action Research). Subjects in the study were children in kindergarten Kwarasan III class B, which was located in the village Kwarasan Grogol, Sukoharjo. The number of subjects in this study 17 children. Collecting data in this study is to use the method of observation and documentation, data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The conclusion of this research that there is a gradual increase of the pre-cycle to the third cycle. Results of pre-cycle read capability has not grow 15 children and begin to grow 2 children. The success rate of the ability to read pre-study gained an average percentage of 30.88%. In the first cycle increased to 46.76%. Similarly, on the second cycle increased to 66.21% and the third cycle into 82.05% exceeds the indicator of success of 75%. The overall increase in the success of reading skills of children from pre-study to the third cycle of 51.17%. The results of the first cycle, underdeveloped reading skills of children 2 children, began to grow 8 children and 7 children develop according to expectations. Cycle II to reading the first child began to grow, develop according to expectations of 12 children, and developed very well 4 children. Cycle III results in the ability to read at the beginning to develop one child, 3 children develop according to expectations, and develop excellent 13 children. From these results it can be concluded that the child's ability to read very well from pre-study to the third cycle from nothing to 13 children, or 76.46%. Keywords: reading, cantol roudhoh
