Abstract
This research paper is aimed at analyzing the students’ mastery on paragraph development by the second year students of SMA N Mojogedang. The background reason of conducting this research in this school is that the students are still lack of a sufficient writing skill, particularly on the paragraph development.. In this research, the writer conducted descriptive qualitative method. It aims at collecting information of a phenomenon which occurred. The methods of collecting data are observation, and documentation. The technique of analyzing data are collecting the data from observation and interview, classifying the data, analyzing the data, and concluding the result and giving suggestions. The result of the research paper are; 1) In SMA N Mojogedang, the teaching learning process is done in conventional way. 2) The students seemed not to have sufficient mastery in the assignment. 31 students got 100 in the first assignment. While, there was only 1 student who got 70 in the second assignment 3) Two problems faced by the teacher and students in paragraph development are time, and materials.
