Abstract
Lightweight concrete is a concrete that weighs lighter than normal concrete. Unlike ordinary concrete, light weight concrete can be adjusted as needed. The aims of this research is to know the effects of plastic waste and rice husk ash on compressive strength, flexural strength. The planned compressive strength (f'c) is 20 MPa. Variation of plastic waste used are 10%; 20%; 30%; and for rice husk ash variation are 10%; 20%; 30%. Each variation consisted of 3 samples with 3 samples for tested compressive strength at 28 days concrete age, 3 samples for compressive strength test at 28 days concrete age, 3 samples for tensile strength test. Laboratory strength test results mixed rice husk ash 10 %, 20%, 30% get value 7.134 N / mm2, 6,265 N / mm2, 5,020 N / mm2. The result of laboratory test is flexible with a mixture of 10%, 20%, 30% husk ash, get 20,415 N / mm2, 16,611 N / mm2, 23,207 N / mm2. The results of laboratory testing of compressive strength of plastic mixture of 10%, 20%, 30% in the value of 7.360 N / mm2, 5.737 N / mm2, 5.586 N / mm2. The results of laboratory testing is strongly supple with 10%, 20%, 30% plastic mixture get 21.656 N / mm2, 18,495 N / mm2, 17,763 N / mm2. The results of this research concluded that the more mixture of rice husk ash and HDPE plastics in the concrete mix can reduce the value of compressive strength and flexural strength.
