Abstract

Performance is the result of an action or program or policy to achieve the goals, objectives, vision, mission of the organization. This study aims to examine the influence of budgetary goal characteristics, competence on the performance of local government apparatus and also to test whether job satisfaction can act as a moderating variable in public sector organizations. This research uses purposive sampling method with 83 respondents in different service. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires. While the data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis processed with SPPS version 17 of windows. The results show that budgetary goal characteristics have negative values and no significant effect on the performance of local government apparatus, while the competence has a positive value and significant effect on the performance of local government apparatus. Job satisfaction can affect the relationship between budgetary goal characteristics and performance of local government apparatus, and job satisfaction is also able to influence the relationship between competence with the performance of local government apparatus in Batang.
