Abstract

The research was conducted in two cities, namely Solo and Yogyakarta City which are connected by Prambana Express Railway (Prameks). The purpose of this study are as follows: (1) Assessing the Characteristic of Workesr and Users of Prambanan Railway Express Solo-Yogyakarta (2) Assessing the Behavior of Workers Mobility and Users of Prambanan Railway Express Solo-Yogyakarta. The workers characteristics who want to be studied by the researcher are age, education, employment, income, and the number of family dependents, whereas the mobility behavior of the workers examined includes: the intensity of premise user, the transportation mode that used to the starting and working stations, starting and destination stations, the worker reasons choose the starting station and destination, origin districts and workers destination. Survey method is used for sampling with questionnaires. Sampling technique that used in sampling is Purposive Proposional Quota Sampling. The researchers determine 100 workers as respondents, divided into two sexes (50 men and 50 women) which is considered capable to representing workers characteristics. The results showed that workers characteristics have a productive age which is dominated by 21-25 years, dominated by workers with high education status (bachelor degree), many workers become employees, with salaries ranging from Rp. 3 - 6 million rupiah per month and have no family responsibilities yet. Many workers come from Sub-district of Laweyan, Kartosuro, Banjarsari where the location is close to Purwosari Station and Solobalapan. Sub-districts as the worker destination in Spacial Ragion of Yogyakarta covering Gondokusuman and Depok areas where the districts is located close to Lempuyangan and Maguwoharjo Stations.
