Abstract
The research is aimed to analyze how the anxiety Ward is reflected in Danielle Steel’s “Family Album”. The objectives of the study are to analyze the structural elements of the novel and to analyze the novel based on psychoanalytic perspective. The researcher uses a qualitative method whose data are based on primary source, the novel Danielle Steel’s “Family Album” it self and secondary source, such as Danielle Steel’s biography and other data dealing with the research. The method of data collection is documentation and technique of data analysis is descriptive. Based on the analysis the researcher draws some conclusions. Firstly, the Danielle Steel’s “Family Album” was created based on Steel’s autobiography. Secondly, Danielle Steel’s shows the conflict in the family that impact ward in getting his anxiety. Third, through his creation of character and characterization, setting, plot and theme, the novel gives a clear description that anxiety experienced by Ward causes him to do something carefully
