Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe (1) thematic learning planning, (2) implementation of thematic learning, and (3) evaluation of thematic learning of curriculum 2013 in fourth grade students at SD Negeri 3 Bawu Kemusu Boyolali. This research is descriptive qualitative research with ethnography research design. Data collection techniques used direct observation, in-depth interviewing, and document studies. Analysis of data by using four stages of data collection, data reduction, Display Data and withdrawal of conclusions / verification. The researchers obtained three findings. (1) thematic learning planning is in accordance with the procedures that include the steps: mapping of Basic Competency, the elaboration of Competency Standards and Basic Competence into indicators, defining themes, setting the theme network, preparing syllabus, preparing prota, preparing promos, preparing RPP and drafting plan of instructional media usage, (2) implementation of thematic learning is in accordance with the learning stages which include: Initial, core, and closing activities. Learning method used by using modification of scientific approach with model PAIKEM GEMBROT. The teaching materials used are LKS, teacher books, student books, supporting books, other reference books. (3) the evaluation of thematic learning is in accordance with the applicable assessment standards and instruments. Evaluation is done to know cognitive development (knowledge), affective (attitude), and psychomotor (skill) use for attitude assessment (affective) through observation, self assessment, peer assessment, and journal. Cognitive assessment (knowledge) through written tests, oral tests and assignment tests. Psychomotor assessment is done through assessment of practice, project appraisal, product assessment, performance appraisal and portfolio assessment.
