Abstract

The research has four objectives. (1) To know and analyze the contribution of principals’ managerial competence, school facilities, and communities’ participation on elementary schools’ performance simultaneously. (2) To know and analyze the contribution of principals’ managerial competence on elementary schools’ performance. (3) To know and analyze the contribution of school facilities on elementary schools’ performance. (4) To know and analyze the contribution of communities’ participation on elementary schools’ performance in Surakarta. The type of the research is a quantative research. The design of the researh is correlational study. The research was undertaken in Surakarta Municipality. The data collecting method is done using questionnaire and document techniques. The data analysis is done using multiple regression analysis. The research resulted in four conclusions. (1) The principals’ managerial competence, school facilities, and communities’ participation had significant contribution on elementary schools’ performance, simultaneously. It is indicated by the F statistics that significant at  = 0.05. The determination coefficient yielded of 0.849 indicated that the variables of principals’ managerial com-petence, school facilities, and communities’ participation, simultaneously, determined the variability of elementary schools’ performance of 84.6%. The remaining of 15.4% was determined by other variables beyond the model. (2) The principals’ managerial competence had significant contribution on elementary schools’ performance. It is indicated by the t statistics results that significant at  = 0.05. (3) The school facilities had significant contribution on elementary schools’ performance, partially. It is indicated by the t statistics results that significant at  = 0.05. (4) The communities’ participation had significant contribution on elementary schools’ performance, partially. It is indicated by the t statistics results that significant at  = 0.05
