Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels due to damage to insulin secretion. Handling diabetes mellitus so complex if not handled can cause complication problems. One of the complications of diabetes mellitus is peripheral neuropathy. Neuropathy refers to diseases that attack all types of nerves, including sensory, motor, and autonomic nerves and are often found in peripheral bodies or called Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN). Purpose: This research is to know the description of peripheral neuropathy in people with diabetes mellitus at Purwosari primary health care. Method: The number of samples in this study were 83 respondents. This research is quantitative with descriptive approach. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling with physical examination using 10g monofilament test on sensory neuropathy and observation on motor neuropathy and autonomy. The analysis of this research using frequency distribution analysis. Result: result of univariate analysis test obtained by sensory neuropathy 29 respondents (34,9%), motor neuropathy obtained 13 respondent (15,7%), autonomic neuropathy 23 respondent (27,7%), so it can be concluded that partially diabetic small patients experience sensory, motor and autonomic neuropathy at Purwosari primary health care. Advice: on diabetes mellitus client should maintain a good diet to keep blood sugar levels normal and always maintain foot hygiene so as to avoid complications of diabetes mellitus such as peripheral neuropathy.
