Abstract

Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder with marked di sorganization of a significant mindset and manicured with communication problem and also cognition. The handling of patients with schizophrenia disease to date has not been satisfactory especially in developing countries, this is due to ignorance of family and society to this type of mental disorder. The family is made into a service unit because family health problems are interrelated to each other affecting each other among family members and will also affect the families around them. Objective: The objective of the study was to determine the description of family support given to patients with schizophrenia who underwent outpatient in Outpatient Installation RSJD Dr RM Soedjarwadi Klaten, Central Java. Method: The research method used qualitative method with phenomenology approach. Sample: Sampling using Non-Probality Sampling method is purposive sampling with 10 samples with criteria of family of schizophrenic psychiatric patient. Data analysis using Miles and Hubermen model by reducing the answer and retrieving keyword from the answer. Results: Based on the results of the study, the authors conclude: The family support provided is 1) Informational support, 2) emotional support, 3) instrumental support, 4) Assessment support. All family support is mostly all good.
