Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1)The influence of profitability towards capital structure at conventional and sharia banks, (2)The influence of size towards capital structure at conventional and sharia banks, (3)The influence of growth towards capital structure at conventional bank and sharia banks (4)The influence of tangible assets towards capital structure at conventional and sharia banks and (5)The influence of earning volatility towards capital structure at conventional and syariah banks. This study includes comparative quantitative research. The population in this study are conventional and syariah banks residing in Indonesia. Sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, that is sample determination technique with certain consideration that is national bank registered in OJK with its financial report can be accessed and complete. With the number of samples used as many as 54 banks. Data collection techniques use secondary data. Data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) Profitability proxied with ROE have positive and significant effect to capital structure of conventional bank, evidenced from significance value 0,000<0,05 and regression coefficient equal to 44,025, (2) Profitability which proxikan with ROE have positive effect and significant to capital structure of syariah bank, evidenced from value of significance 0,000<0,05 and regression coefficient of 32,646, (3) Profitability which proxikan with ROA have negative and significant influence to capital structure of conventional bank, proved from significance value 0,000<0,05 and regression coefficient of -376,999. (4) Profitability proxied with ROA has a negative and significant effect on capital structure of sharia bank, evidenced from value of significance 0,000<0,05 and regression coefficient equal to -80,426, (5) Size have positive but insignificant to conventional bank capital structure, evidenced from the value of si gnifikansi 0,217>0,05 and regression coefficient equal to 0,064, (6) Size have positive but not significant significant to capital structure of syaria bank, evidenced from value of significance 0,182>0,05 and regression coefficient equal to 0,112, (7) Growth have negative effect but insignificant to the capital structure of conventional bank, evidenced from the significance value of 0.752>0.05 and the regression coefficient of -0.021, (8) Growth has a positive but not significant effect on the capital structure of sharia banks, evidenced from the significance value of 0.894>0.05 and coefficients regression of 0.075, (9) Tangible asset has negative and significant effect on capital structure of conventional bank, evidenced from value of significance 0,000<0,05 and regression coefficient equal to -35,164, (10) Tangible asset have positive and significant influence to Sharia Bank capital structure , evidenced from the value of significance 0,039<0,05 and regression coefficient equal to 23,571, (11) Earning Volatility has negative but not significant effect to capital structure of conventional bank, evidenced from value of significance 0,919>0,05 and regression coefficient equal to -0,002, (12) Earning Volatility have positive and significant effect to Sharia bank capital structure, proved from significance value 0,000<0,05 and the regression coefficient of 0.780.
