Abstract

Along with the increase of economy activity development and the growth of population cause the height pressure to the environment. In the end, it will damage the environment itself. The river as the part of living environment is in the apprehensive condition, it tends to happend the canging of the river ecosystem that showed by the degradation of quantity and quality of the water. Most of the river flow area in Indonesia is damaged. Most of the damage is caused by human activity throwing rubish and waste in the river flow. All of the rubish and waste throw to the river without processed first, so the water is tainted. It causes the river in the big city such as Surakarta experiences the decrease of the water quality. This research is entitled "The Policy of Environment Process Through the School River Program in Surakarta with the problem statement" How the policy of environment process the the school river program in Surakarta and How is the model of school river in realizing the sustainable river. The conclusion is the policy that relates with school river in Surakarta is created because of the decrease of rive function. The river in surakarta is amost 90% tainted. In realizing the sustainable river, the school river program has the systematic model. Both in the main target of school river program, budgt, aparatus and informatics Keywords : policy, management of the environment,river schools.
