Abstract

The Gonggang Reservoir is located in Gonggang River which is a tributary of Madiun River with a catchment area of 12,8698 km². The reservoir was built to overcome the lack of irrigation water and water supply and is expected to become one of the Tourist destinations in Magetan regency. In the study of Gonggang dam security against floods, rainfall data was analyze and then flood routing. The result of the calculation shows that Gonggang dam is safe for flood design with percentage of flood attenuation for return period, namely; 53,815% for 2 years period, 52,261% for 5 years period, 51.307% for 10 years period, 49.26% for 25 years period, 49.451% for 50 years period , 48.808% for 100 years period, 48.103% for 200 years period, 46.607% for 1000 years period.
