Abstract
Background: smoking is a behavior that is detrimental to health for self and others, but still many people who smoke even the age of smoking behavior many found in adolescence. Adolescent behavior is influenced by family and peer environment factors. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between family and peers with the behavior of smoking teens in the village Gonilan Kartasura Method: This study used cross sectional design. Population in this research is 120 respondents and taken sample with cluster random sampling technique got 55 respondents, statistical analysis by using chi Square test. Results: The results showed there was a relationship between the family environment with smoking behavior with the level of closeness p value 0,009. And there is also a relationship between peers with smoking behavior of adolescents in the village of Gonilan Kartasura with the level of closeness relationship p value 0.001. Conclusion: the majority of teenagers Gonilan Kartasura village are male, smoking at age 20 with the majority of heavy smokers. Family environment and peers have a relationship with teenage smoking behavior.
