Abstract

In Indonesia, as many as 4,2 million people at the age 10-59 years old were committed to drugs abusing. In 2016, there were 360 people committed to drugs abusing in Solo Raya areas and on January-April 2017 as many as 170 people at the age between 20-40 years old were using drugs. This research aimed to describe about drugs abuse of prisoners in Rutan Klas I A Surakarta. The method used in this research is narrative with type of research is qualitative research with case study approach. Informant of this research were 10 main informants and 1 triangulation informant with purposive sampling technique. The result of this research is drugs abuse’s processof prisoners were started by knowing about drugs, dabbling it, using on specific situation, using intensively, then doping up. The factors causing drugs abuse are felling curious, lack of knowledge about drugs, perception about activity, and less harmonious in family. Conclusion in this research is using a drug on productive age and workerscaused by drugs increase of spirit while doing difficult activities. Therefore, Public health office and BNN be check of drug use not only to adolescent, but also formal or informal worker.
