Abstract

Diarrhea is a disease of the digestive system characterized by watery stools more than three times a day. This study aims to determine the relationship of mother's knowledge about diarrhea with mother's behavior on handling diarrhea in children in Jatisobo Village Kecamatan Polokarto Sukoharjo District. This research is a research type of quantitative research, with research design description correlation with cross sectional data retrieval technique. This research was conducted in Jatisobo Village, Polokarto Sub-district, Sukoharjo District, on October 1, sd.d. November 30, 2017. The population of this study were mothers who had children aged 12-24 months who had suffered diarrhea for the last 6 months and was paid at the puskesmas in Jatisobo village, Polokarto sub-district, Sukoharjo regency with 31 respondents. The sample of this research is 31 respondents with sampling total sampling technique. Bivariate analysis using Chi Square test analysis with Yates correction. The results showed that there was a relationship between mother's knowledge about diarrhea with mother's behavior toward diarrhea handling in children with p = 0,002.
