Abstract

Gastric disorders represent the top 10 outpatient diseases in Indonesian hospitals. Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach whereas dyspepsia is an indigestion caused by irregular eating, stress. Drug interactions can lead to changes in the effects of a drug that is detrimental to the patient ie reduced drug efficacy, increased drug toxicity. The purpose of this study to determine the number of potential drug interaction events in patients with gastritis and dyspepsia at inpatient RSUD Dr. Moewardi and to find out how many drugs have the most interaction in patients with gastritis and dyspepsia at inpatient hospitals. Moewardi. This research is observational (non experimental) research using purposive sampling method with retrospective data retrieval technique and analyzed using database of www.drugs.com, Stockley Drug Interaction and www.medscape..com. The inclusion criteria were patients diagnosed with gastritis and dyspepsia who underwent inpatients with or without comorbidities, patients receiving more than one drug therapy, patients aged 10-80 years and complete patient medical record data. The results of the research found the interaction of potencial drugs as much as 80 patients in Dr.Moewardi Hospital in 2016. Of all potential drug interaction occurrences found 52.98% drug interactions, in the absorption phase 31.25%, distribution phase 7.5%, 50% metabolic phase and phase excretion 11.25%. Judging from the severity level found 74.31% interaction on moderate severity, 22.02% minor and 3.67% major. The most interacting drugs were antacids and 19.74% of ondansetron.
