Abstract
Background: The factor that influence the giving of MP-ASI is mother toddler’s knowledge. The first research has been shown that the mother toddler’s knowledge is less than 45%. One of the method that possible to do is nutrition education. Nutrition education about breastfeeding supplementary food in Posyandu requires media to deliver information to the mothers easily. Leaflet selected as nutrition education media because it is able to spread information in a short time so it hopes that after attending nutrition education using leaflet media can improve mother’s knowledge in Posyandu Mawar in Semanggi Village Surakarta. Objective: to know the effect of nutrition education about MP-ASI with leaflet media to knowledge of mother of toddler age 6-24 month in Posyandu Mawar Semanggi Village Surakarta. Methods: This research is descriptive research, variable is measured by using questioner before and after given nutrition education about complementary food of ASI. The media used is a leaflet. Results: The level of mother’s knowledge before being given nutrition education mostly (40,5%) included to enough, meanwhile mother toddler’s knowledge level after nutrition education has been good on more than half respondents (54,1%). Conclusion: There is influence before and after being given nutrition education about MP-ASI with media leaflet to knowledge of mother of toddler age 6-24 months at Posyandu Mawar in Semanggi Village Surakarta. Research Suggestion: Mother need to improve knowledge about the types of MPASI and nutrient content yag found in food to be provided.
