Abstract
The development of the tourist village of Kampung Gum is a program of cooperation between the youth of the village of Puntukrejo with PTPN9 in developing the tourism potential of kampung gum, in the form of nature tourism activities like tubing, camping, as well as education on how to take out gum . The purpose of this research is to know the form of empowerment in the development of the tourist village karangtaruna Kampoeng gum in Puntukrejo Village, Subdistrict Kenteng Ngargoyoso Karanganyar Regency. This research method using qualitative research with the primary data source i.e. interview, as well as secondary data which consists of the collection of documents. This research uses interview techniques in depth with the sampling techniques the taking of snowball. Furthermore, to ensure validation of data, researchers with triangulation of data and interactive techniques in the presentation of data. The results of this research are as follows: the role of youth in developing the tourism village is as a subject. It is characterized by the participation of youth in the creation and decision making in the usual plans implemented. It is indicated that the initiatives and activities of each program emerged from the youth. Youth participation in the implementation and execution. Youth involved in some activities of the tourist village, namely tourism packages in the field of sports such as outbound, camping and tubing. Participation in evaluation, where involvement in running processes to achieve the goal that has been set. In this case the young man involved in the discussion forum are done routinely every once a month in the event of the meeting karangtaruna, so that each young man role in terms of evaluation.
