Abstract

The aims of this Research is to improve the ability of memorizing Al-Qur'an students Class VII C SMP Muhammdiyah 5 Surakarta and Class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta 2016/2017. The variables that subjected are to changes in classroom action research for the ability of memorizing al-Qur'an, while the action variables used in this research is the method of peer teaching. The form of this research is classroom action research using cycle model. Each cycle consists of 3 stages: planning, action implementation, observation. As the subject is the students of Class VII C SMP Muhammdiyah 5 Surakarta, amount to 31 students and Class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta, amount to 31 students. Subjects taken on the grounds of researchers in taking the subject in a classical. Data collection techniques use observation, interview, test and documentation. Test the validity of data using democratic validity with triangulation form sources. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model that has three components namely reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of class action research (PTK) that has been implemented to explain that: 1) Application of Peer Teaching method in learning to memorize Al-Qur'an to improve the ability of memorizing Al-Qur'an in students of class VII C SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta and students of class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta is very effective and appropriate, it can be described in the data in Cycle I, Cycle II and Cycle III there are an increase in each cycle. 2) Measuring the mastery of student learning on the subjects of al-Qur'an before and after applying peer teaching method can be clearly illustrated on the improvement in each cycle of cycle 1 indicates an increase in reading ability of al-Qur'an aspect mahraj and tajwid, cycle 2 shows the increase of reading ability of al-Qur'an aspect mahraj, tajwid and tahsin and cycle 3 indicate an increase of reading ability of al-Qur'an aspect mahraj, tajwid, tahsin and tasri '. 3) The advantages of this method is strong cooperation by forming small groups, the students will be more easily guided, each group is accompanied by an assistant who fixes the memorization of his friend to facilitate the process of memorizing the Qur'an with aspects mahraj, tajwid, tahsin and tasri’. The weakness of using this method is required a lot of time and repeated with the stages in the cycle I, II and III.
