Abstract

Klaten Regency is one of the districts in Central Java Province. This regency is located between two big cities that have a high level of regional development, namely Surakarta City and Yogyakarta City. In the last ten years, the regions in Klaten Regency have developed development due to the potential of natural resources and good human resources. Increasing the development of these districts 2 in Klaten Regency is then conducted research with the aim to know the variation of the level of development of the subdistrict in Klaten regency in the two periods of the year of 2005 to 2015 and to know the development priority development in Klaten regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method, which explains and describes an object about the state of the region, human condition or anything related to the measurement of the level of regional development. To determine the level of regional development will be used analysis of scoring tables and do the classification of several variables contained in the indicators of regional development. The results of this study indicate that the development of the region in Klaten regency in 2005 to 2015 which experienced the development of advanced regions are in the District of Prambanan, Wedi, Pedan, Klaten Selatan, Klaten Tengah and Klaten Utara. The development of the sub-districts is due to high population density, complex road density and the availability of socio-economic facilities that meet such facilities as education, health and the economy. As for areas that have not or have not experienced regional development in Klaten regency are in Sub-district of Gantiwarno, Kebonarum, Karangnongko, Karangdowo, Polanharjo and Kemalang. The development of low areas in these sub-districts is due to the lack of facilities of socio-economic facilities, so that the region can not develop properly. The low development of the region in District Gantiwarno, Kebonarum, Karangnongko, Karangdowo, Polanharjo and Kemalang make these areas a priority I in the effort of regional development.
