Abstract

The current Account representative the external conditions of a country’s economy. The condition of the current account balance in Indonesia tends to imbalanced. This study is aim to analyse the variables that affect the current account performance in Indonesia. This study uses three independent variables namely exchange rate, inflation and GDP. The data used are secondary data (time series) in the form of quarter from years 2007.I until 2016.IV that sourced from Bank Indonesia and Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia. The analytical tool used in this study is a partial adjustment regression model (PAM: Partial Adjustment Model) and Classical Assumption Test to treat with Soffware E-Views. Based on the test results Partial Adjustment Model (PAM) indicates that the inflation variabel in the short and long term does not affect the current account balance. While the exchange rate variable in the short and long term have positive significant effect to the current account balance and the GDP variable in the short and long term have significant negative effect to the current account balance.
