Abstract

Pneumonia is a respiratory infections disease are caused by bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic pathogens that cause deaths in children, especially toddlers and increasing number incidents per year. Treatment of pneumonia treated with antibiotics rational and effective because can improve clinical therapeutic effects, minimize drug toxicity, reduce the incidence of resistance that leads to treatment failure, and more economically. The purpose of this study is to determine the picture of cost effectiveness in patients with pneumonia disease.This study was an observational study with retrospective data retrieval using medical record data of pediatric patients diagnosed pneumonia in dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2016. Inclusion criteria used were patients diagnosed with pneumonia under the age of 18 years and received antibiotic therapy with complete medical record data. The inclusion samples were analyzed in accordance with the ACER and ICER methods. The results of the study of 30 cases studied, The most cost-effective antibiotic therapy based on the value of ACER in class III is ampicilin injection 1000 mg with a value of Rp. 18.636,64, while in VIP class antibiotics the most cost-effective ceftriaxon 1000 mg injection with a value of Rp. 2,231.58.
