Abstract

The development of teaching method in physician education shifted from TCL to SCL. Faculty of Medicine University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta using KBK approach problem based learning (PBL) which is primarily 7 step tutorial. Lectures and study groups are closely related to self directed learning in Step VI of PBL tutorial. In This learning method students are encouraged to be able to conduct self directed study to find valid and relevant information as a source of learning, so as to support learning achievement and achieve the expected competence. The objective is to study the relationship between lectures and group study on step VI tutorial of the PBL method to learning achievement of medical students of Faculty of Medicine University Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Observational analytical research with cross sectional approach. The subjects were chosen by purposive sampling method and subject were collected 110 students of seven semester year class of 2014 who have fulfilled inclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using pearson correlation and multivariat analisis with linier regretion. Obtained the average attendance rate of 98%, group study average 38.41 minutes / day and CBT 66.52. Statistically, there is a relationship which is meaningful between lectures and group study towardvlearning achievement that is shown with p value = 0.000. Lecture and group study on the learning achievement has a moderate correlation level with r= 0,482 and also R2= 21,8%, significant enough contribution in supporting learning achievement.
