Abstract

Education is an important part in the process of living. Educational achievement is the result of measurement to learners after following the learning process measured by using the relevant instrument. At the student level, learning achievement can be calculated by the GPA score. Several factors that influence learning achievement include physical factors such as cranial capacity and psychological factors such as emotional intelligence. To know the relation of cranial capacity and emotional intelligence against the student study achievement on faculty of medicine Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Observational analytic research with cross sectional approach. Research subjects were chosen by purposive sampling method as much as 75 student semester 3, 5, and 7 on faculty of medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in academic year 2017/2018 that have fulfilled restriction criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman's correlation test. The correlation test of cranial capacity on learning achievement has value r = -0,003 and p = 0,981. While the test of emotional intelligence correlation to learning achievement has value r = 0,432 and p<0,001. The correlation test of cranial capacity against learning achievement showed a negative correlation. The correlation test of emotional intelligence against learning achievement shows that the correlation is positive with moderate strength. Cranial capacity had no relation against learning achievement. While emotional intelligence had a correlation against learning achievement and statistically significant.
