Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) analyze zone of benthic habitat and (2) analyze effect of geomorphological zone on the distribution benthic habitats in parts of Karimunjawa Nasional Park. Geomorphological zone approach is widely used in the manufacturing process of benthic habitat maps because it is considered capable of reducing misclassification, so that increasing the accuracy. The difference between benthic habitat mapping accuracy results with and without geomorphological zone approach not yet known certainly, so need to known the effectiveness of using the geomorphological zone approach to improve the accuracy in the benthic habitat maps manufacturing. The influence of the geomorphological zone approach toward accuracy of mapping the benthic habitat is determined by comparing the accuracy value of confussion matrix result on the calssification results with and without correction of the geomorphological zone approach. Firstly Pleiades image must go through several stages of radiometric correction that consists of several stage,sunglint correction, and water column OBIA classification. Image classification used maximum likelihood method with the sample results of field surveys. The next step was accuracy test. The result is a benthic habitat maps with and without of the geomorphological zone approach at the level of the major schemes. The results show that the value of overall accuracy results image classification with geomorphology approach has a high accuracy of 85.88%. Geomorphology approch can increase the accuracy value at 18.23%. This research suggest that geomorphological zone approach methode could be a promise approach for mapping benthic habitats.
