Abstract

This study aims to determine how the role of group communication in preserving the tradition of Mountain Sedekah in Lencoh Village Selo Districts Boyolali District. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive approach. Technique of collecting data by in-depth interview (indepth interview) and observation. Sampling by using purposive sampling by taking 4 informants, 1 person of community elder / member of village apparatus, 1 person of community leader, 2 member of society of Lencoh Village, Selo Sub-districts, BoyolaliDistrict. The results showed the role of group communication in preserving the tradition of mountain alms in Lencoh Village SeloDistricts Boyolali District, which includes social role, role of education, role of influence and control group, decision-making role, and role of therapy.
