Abstract

The development of the textile industry which is on the rise in Indonesia resulted in the existence of negative effects in the form of liquid color that can waste pollutes the environment. To resolve the issue then required the existence of waste treatment has a surface liquid color several advantages, among them the cost is relatively inexpensive and has a high efficiency in the process of absorption of waste substances, liquid color. Pectin is one of the components of the plant which contain lots of active, namely cluster component that plays an important role in the process of biosorpsi. In the process of making, pectin is used as an anionic polymer Ionic interact with the addition of chitosan in order to form a compound adsorbent which has absorption against the waste of the substance. Solution of pectin from orange peel and Chitosan blended with 2:1; 3:1; 4:1 comparison as well as at the time of the extraction of 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes and extraction temperature 70° C and 80° c. Based on the results of the analysis of matrix from pectin chitosan obtained maximum results in absorption solution of rhodamin B with color substance concentration absorption of 0.3600 g/L at a temperature of 80 ° C and extraction with extraction time for 60 minutes.
