Abstract

Sorghurm is a cereal plant that can grow without an intensive care. This study aims to determine the suitability of land for sorghum plant in Wuryantoro Subdistrict. The method used in this study is a survey method and laboratory analysis. From each parameter that has been surveyed and conducted a laboratory tests will produce a matching classification scores in each parameter. Then it will be matched with a table of classification level of suitability sorghum plant, so that it can include to category such as S1 (Very Suitable), S2 (Fairly Suitable), S3 (Suitable to Marginal), N1 (Not Suitable Now), and N2 (Not Suitable to Permanent). From the result of the study it can be known the level of land suitability in the research area included to the category S3 and N1 and also known the distribution areas of land suitability to sorghum plant that divided into N1 classification covers the area of Wuryantoro, Genukharjo Gumiwanglor, Mlopoharjo, Pulutan Lor, and Pulutan Wetan with delimiter factor of slope IV amounts > 45% (Very Steep) and suitability classification S3 covers the area of Wuryantoro, Gumiwanglor, Mlopoharjo, Pulutan Kulon, Pulutan Wetan, Mojopuro, and Sumberejo with delimiter factor of rainfall amounts 3049 mm, the drainage is Slightly Inhibited, the Effective Depth is 30 cm, the slope is > 45%, danger of flooding F3, P2O5 of 4.35 mg100g-1 and K2O 12.14 mg100g-1.
