Abstract
Batako is a building material in the form of brick alternative brick replacement that composed with the composition between sand, cement and water by using a certain comparison. advancement of this era more rapidly many innovations to make building materials batako.dengan using added materials. one of which uses waste lathe. In this research aims to get the value of compressive strength, tensile strength and gravity test. The ratio of cement and fine aggregate aggregates is 1: 6 with a fas value of 0.4 and a percentage variation of 0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2.0% and 2.5%. This research use concrete cylinder test object measuring diameter 15 cm and height 25 cm.dan specimen in form of brick with size 30cm x 15cm x 10cm. With the number of specimens 30 cylinders of concrete and 30 specimens of brick test. This test is done with the age of cylindrical concrete test object and brick 28 days. Based on the research that has been done, the bracket with the percentage of added 1% iron lathe waste material has a compressive strength value of 6.979 MPa, and the addition of 2.0% steel lathe waste has a tensile strength value of 0.481 MPa. In the impact test on the brick to get energy potential and does not make the brickhead physically disabled, and of the few samples in the brick test that had little physical defect. so it can be concluded brickwork by using the added materials of waste lathe can improve the quality and quality of the brick.
