Abstract
This research focuses on the students’ differences of achievement and reading skill on learning material “tarikh” (Islamic history) using active learning method with map of concept and Vee diagram for students grade XI Class IPA semester 1 SMA N 1 Polokarto academic year 2015/2016. This research used quasi experiment which done from September 2015-februari 2016. The objet of the research is all students of grade XI IPA SMA N 1 Polokarto academic year. 2015/2016. The sample was acquired by using cluster random sampling technic which came from two class, XI IPA 3 and XI IPA 4. Students of class XI IPA 3 were given material using method map of concept and XI IPA 4 were given material using diagram vee method. The data was collected by using testing method for cognitive achievement; questionnaire was used for affective achievement and reading skill. The hypothesis was tested using paired t-test which well known as parametric test. From the data analysis, its concluded that : 1. There are significant difference on cognitive and affective students’ achievement on learning “tarikh” using method of concept and vee diagram. 2. There is no difference on reading skill on “tarikh” using map of concept and vee diagram.
