Abstract

Well being is a person's ability to assess the level of life satisfaction and the assessment of affects (positive affects and negative affects). Early adolescents have a low category of well being because they must be adult although their behavior is irrational and have a high level of emotion. It must be solved by emotional regulation training. Subjects on this study are early adolescents in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta who havewellbeing on low category or medium category. The total subjects in this study amounted to 40 people. They divided into 2 groups namely, control groups and experimental groups by random assignment. The collecting data in this study use a well being scale with experimental design pre test-post test control group design. Hypothesis test in this study using Independent Sample T-Test technique withvalue t= -3,709 and sig (2 tailed)= 0,001which (p <0.01). It means there is a significant differences of well being level between groups given emotional regulation training and groups that are not given emotional regulation training. Therefore, emotional regulation training is effective in improving well being of early adolescence.
