Abstract

Waste is the residue of activities conducted by all human. The problem is a big task faced by the government in serving the waste in Indonesia, especially Karanganyar district. The purpose of this research is to evaluate TPS by establishing optimal location in Karanganyar district. Karanganyar district currently has a garbage service facility or TPS as much as 56 TPS and 39 points of rubbish source spread in 7 of 17 districts in Karanganyar district. The number of TPS is considered less than optimal in serving the community's garbage in Karanganyar district. Wild waste disposal is often at some point, this is due to the volume of waste that exceeds the capacity of TPS. P Median forgot the method of determining the facility with the location of allocation based on the average minimum travel time between the source of waste to the TPS. The method can help DLH optimize the garbage service in Karanganyar district Based on the result obtained from the calculation resulted in the election of 24 TPS based on the minimum travel time and got the proper allocation of TPS to the source and the availability of TPS capacity.
