Abstract

ISPA in Kartoharjo Sub-district is included in the top ten list of diseases at Kartoharjo Community Health Center. Efforts to control ISPA in their work areas are conducted through ten ISPA control programs and health promotion according to WHO and Ottawa charter strategy. This study aims to analyze the role of Kartoharjo CommunityHealthCenter through health promotion efforts in the practice of ISPA disease control in the work area of Kartoharjo Magetan Community Health Center. This type of research is a qualitative research with case study approach. Technique of data collecting by interview to two main informant that is head of P2PM field and health promotion officer and nine person informant triangulation that is head of Kartoharjo CommunityHealth Centerand eight people in district Kartoharjo. The results showed that the efforts of Kartoharjo CommunityHealth Centerin the control of ISPA through ten ISPA control programs and health promotion is not optimal. Kartoharjo Community Health Center is only able to implement two of the ten programs with the maximum effort of recording, reporting, building partnerships and networking. Health promotion efforts according to WHO and Otawa charter strategies implemented by Kartoharjo Community Health Center almostnot maximal. This is because Kartoharjo Community Health Center has no environmentally sound policies, specific community for ISPA control, cooperation with community leaders, and special training for ISPA control program.
