Abstract

Abrasion is one of the demage to the beach in the form of erosion in shoreline that cause changing of coastline. This one happened in Kuwaru Beach, Bantul Regency. One of the method to handling the abrasion is using breakwater. Breakwater are useful to dampen the wave energy so when it reaches shore the energy is not to extreme. This research is based on the design of breakwater to handling of abrasion. The design of breakwater in this research require some data including wave data, wind, tides, and bathymetry. From all of data above and then analyzed and produces a characteristic of tidal, wave, and slope of the beach area. From data that has been analyzed can be determined the dimensions and other parameters of breakwater that designed at Kuwaru Beach, Bantul Regency.
