Abstract
Since the policy on tourism that development of villages in Indonesia as a tourist village began to emerge. Potential region one of them is tourism potential where the potential of this tour becomes the choice of local government by developing the village into a tourist village. The empowerment of the tourist village will contribute to the development of the village and also develop the potential of its resources so that it can optimally develop the potential of the community, increase employment and also increase the income of the family. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Techniques of collecting data by interview in depth and selecting research resource are village apparatus, village tour manager and community. Informant determination technique with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis method in this research use interactive analysis that is by data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The result of research shows that community empowerment in developing the village of Rempah and Fruits of Gudangharjo Village Paranggupito District of Wonogiri Regency is almost the same as referring to Suharto's (2005) empowerment approach which can be shortened to 5P including improvement, strengthening, protection, support and maintenance. The intended empowerment is the society that is the subject to be enhanced, strengthened its belief to develop, be protected, be supported and maintained its potential. It can be said that so far the empowerment done in Gudangharjo Village Paranggupito District Wonogiri Regency has also fulfilled the element of the approach only, of course, in the implementation slightly different according to the existing conditions in the field and understanding of the community in interpreting.
