Abstract

The application of lecture method in the learning process in the classroom becomes the background of this research. In addition, teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Manisrenggo are not ready to implement the 2013 curriculum maturely that demands an active learning system, so that teachers tend to use lecture methods. The development of instructional video as a medium that is used to deliver teaching materials into alternative solutions in the learning process in the classroom. The purpose of this development research for the development of video learning that can be used to determine the level of student learning outcomes on learning IPS earthquake material. This research is a research development of R & D (Research and Development. The developed learning video was then experimented with taking 2 class samples namely, the control class and the experimental class. Student learning outcomes in the control class given the learning by lecture method showed pretest value of 6.85 and posttest of 7.85. The learning result of experimental class students using learning video of product development result from this research shows pretest of 6.83 and posttest of 8.93. The conclusion of this research is the achievement of research objectives and the use of learning video media to help teachers to improve student learning outcomes.
