Abstract
Communication is an element that very important during in a crisis, this is because the exchange of messages will experience obstacles during crisis for example like disasters. Knowledges about disaster is very useful for reducing the number of victims during the crisis. For disable people, they need special treatment to make them good for accepting messages. Students with disabilities in Klaten have received various kinds of socialization and simulation of various stakeholders crisis communications. BPBD and SAR team of Klaten as structured institutions are also participating in performing their duties as rescuers. Crisis communication has an important role in overcoming problems when a disaster occurs. It helps spreading messages during crisis situation, so parties who has responsibility for people safety will be able for creating a good and orderly interactions. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the response of students with disabilities to disaster protection program conducted by BPBD and SAR Team of Klaten. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with analyzes of data collected through questionnaires. Samples of this research is 50 people from three disabilities school. Data processing was performed using mean value with testing every aspect of crisis communication. Based on the results, it provides the informations that the response of the disable students to crisis communications which conducted by BPBD and City of Klaten SAR team is well maintained.
