Abstract

Living alone does not make the older people become unhappy. On the contrary, the solitude makes the older people become better at building happiness in him by doing positive things that can reduce the sense of loneliness and able to make older people become independent and remain productive. This study aims to find out how happiness in older people women who live alone. Informant of this research are 6 older people people who technique of data retrieval by using Purposive Sampling, with characteristic as follows: a). Living in Klaten, b). Live alone, c). Aged 60-80. The method used in this research is qualitative research method. Data collection methods used in this study were semi-structural interview and observation (participation). The results of the study found 4 sections that show happiness in older people women who live alone that is positive relationships with other people (family and community environment), full involvement (work and activity), pschologycal (Resilience, optimism) religiosity.
