Abstract

Emotional intelligence is a very important concept discussed and needs to be applied in the Islamic education system. Therefore, the formulation of the concept and strategy of its application must be done in the Islamic education system in order to foster the emotional intelligence of the students. This study aims: to know how the role of Islamic religious education in the guidance of students' intelligence in smp muhammadiyah 1 kartasura. The research model used is field research (field research) and qualitative approach, with the subjects of the students and teachers of Islamic religious education. Data collection methods used were interviews, observation and documentation. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the role of Islamic religious education are 5 components: 1) foster self-awareness, can be done by instilling the sidewa to cling to the truth and help students solve the problem, 2) foster self-regulation, can be done by involving students in learning both physically, socially and emotionally 3) fostering motivation, can be done by encouraging students always active and giving freedom in opinion 4) fostering empathy ability, can be done by teaching to respect and respect others and 5) fostering social skill done with building positive interaction and cooperation between students, through organizations in the school environment. Furthermore, this research is expected to give cognitive contribution for educational institutions kususnya in smp muhammadiyah 1 kartasura so as to improve the learning process mengaja Islamic religious education in realizing the noble generations of Muslims.
