Abstract
The objective of the study (1) to describe the structure that build the novel Partikelnovelby Dewi Lestari, (2) to descibe the motivation aspect in the Paartikel novel by Dewi Lestari viwed from psychological persepctive, and (3) to describe the implementation of the Paartikel novel by Dewi Lestari finding as a teaching material on Senior High School.This research was descriptive qualitative research with the motivation aspect in Partikel novel as the object. The data of this research was the pharagraphs that describe about the motivation aspect in the Partikel novel. The method of collecting data by using library, observe and write. The data validation was used Triangulation theory. The analysis technic did by using semiotic model, heuristic and hermeneutic. The result of thi research showed that: (1) The structur analysis of Partikel Novel appears the theme that is the journey of life and the struggle of a kid to find him self in the family. The plot of the novel was progressif. Setting of place in the partikel novel such as Batu Luhur, Tanjung Putting, and London, setting of time sowed by the time of 1979-2003, social setting showed by the development of technology. The stting of time was on 1979-2003. (2) the motivation aspect of Partikel novel viewd from psychological showed that there were active motivation and passive motivation. The pattern on motivation consists of (a) achievement motivation, (b) affiliation motivation, (c) competence motivation, dan (d) power motivation. (3) the result of this study can be implemented as teaching material on Senior high school based on curriculum based on base competence reading 7. Understanding the text, indonesian or English novel based on standard competence 7.2 analysing the intrinsic and extrinsic elements Englis or Indonesian novel. The choosen of Partikel as literature teaching learning based on the criteria consists of a) language aspect, b) psychology aspect, c) culture backgroud aspect.
