Abstract

Background: Education and health are very close related issues. The behavior of seeking medication in the community are varies, among which, there are five categories, namely: self-medication, buying drugs in drug dealers, using traditional medicine, paraprofessional (nurses/midwives, midwives), as well as qualified alopati practitioners (doctors, dentists). Dental and oral treatment options are influenced by the level of education because it can determine health demand. The high demand for dental treatment options can be determined by the high level of education. Objective: To know the correlation between education level of head of household with dental medication seeking behavior in RW 02, Kowangan, Temanggung district. Method: Correlational research with cross sectional approach using questioner with 120 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method done on 4 different RTs to get the data evenly. The data obtained was then analyzed by Chi-Square test. Result: The result of the study showed that there was a correlation between education level of head of household and dental medication seeking behavior from Chi-Square test which showed p value < 0,05. Conclusion: There was a relation between the education level of the head of household to dental medication seeking behavior in RW 02, Kowangan, Temanggung District.
