Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) the process of character education management in the activities of religious-oriented counseling; 2) the advantages and disadvantages of character education in religion-oriented counseling activities; and 3) a draft model of the formation of character through religion-oriented counseling. This study used a qualitative approach to the design of phenomenology. The subjects were students, teachers and principals in MTs Al Amin Sukoharjo. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Technique authenticity of data in this study using a triangulation method with source triangulation. Analysis of the data using an interactive model with process data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are: (1) cooperation of all teachers and stakeholders is necessary for the progress of the school and program terlaksanannya. In addition to cooperation, it is also necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of the routine to see the work program of the school.; (2) its shortcomings, among others, still less the readiness of the human resources in our schools, supporting data in counseling is still lacking, the advantages of these activities include a student much more discipline and zeal in memorizing the Qur'an; and (3) For curriculum development can be done with both the necessary steps are planned. Planning is an essential part of the development program and covers all the activities that will use all available resources in order to guidance activities can be accomplished in accordance with its intended purpose.
