Abstract
The purpose of this research to analyze the characteristic of air circulation in air conditioner’s room with simulation approach (Computational Fluid Dynamics). This research starts with measured the temperature condition and air velocity in room by arrange the temperatue setting of air conditioner evaporator output in order to three variants, i.e 18˚C, 20˚C, and 22˚C. As for the coordinate point is arranging on sector P1 (Z=0.5) that is (7,1,0.5), (5.6,1,0.5), (4.2,1,0.5), (2.8,1,0.5), (1.4,1,0.5). On sector P2 (Z=3.5) with coordinate (7,1,3.5), (5.6,1,3.5), (4.2,1,3.5), (2.8,1,3.5), (1.4,1,3.5), and on sector P3 (Z=5) with coordinate (7,1,5), (5.6,1,5), (4.2,1,5), (2.8,1,5), (1.4,1,5). This research devided into two steps, i.e validation toward three types mesh which is bulid and simulation with variation. First step is validating step, in this step is simulated a room with two air conditioner configuration that each mesh H1 (nodes = 36317), mesh H2 (nodes = 481178), and mesh H3 (nodes = 1003938), will simulating and the result will compared with arranging data temperature is doing by the author. The result of this research is shows that the type of mesh H2 is producing the smallest fault value with contras level reach 4.97% on P1, 0.99% on P2, 0.39% on P3, standard comparison is arranging is doing by the writer with temperature setting 20˚C. Research the variation of changes in temperature air conditioner the average increase in room in room temperature setting on 18˚C to 20˚C and back down when setting temperature 22˚C. This also occurs in the result average air velocity occurred. The coefficient of heat transfer in increased, in accordance with a setting temperatur which is done by the author.
