Abstract
The study is entitled “Analysis of Factors Affecting Human Development Index (HDI) in East Java Province 2012-2014”. The objective is to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (LOG PDRB), Unemployment Rate (TPT), Total Poor Population (KMS), and Gini Ratio (GR) to Human Development Index (IPM) in East Java Province 2012-2014. Dependent variable is Human Development Index (IPM), while independent variable is Gross Regional Domestic Product (LOG PDRB), Unemployment Rate (TPT), Total Poor Population (KMS), and Gini Ratio (GR). This study uses secondary data with panel data regression analysis technique. The results show that fixed effect model (FEM) is the most appropriate data panel regression model. Based on the validity test of influence or t test, PDRB and Gini Ratio have a significant positive influence on Human Development Index, while Unemployment Rate and Total Poor Population People do not have a significant influence to Human Development Index. Based on the F test, PDRB, Unemployment Rate, Total Poor Population and Gini Ratio simultaneously or together affect the Human Development Index. Regression output results show the magnitude of R-square 0.998946, meaning 99.89%. This means that the variation of Human Development Index can be explained by the variation of independent variables that exist in statistical model such as Gross Regional Domestic Product (LOG PDRB), Unemployment Rate (TPT), Total Poor Population (KMS), and Gini Ratio (GR). While the rest of 10.54% is explained by variations of other factors not included in the model.
