Abstract
Sragen regency is one of the districts that become rice granary in Central Java Province. The total area of agricultural land in Sragen regency is about 68,753 ha or about 73,02 % from total area of Sragen regency. It makes Sragen regency able to fulfill rice production requirement for its own region and other area. The Land Potential Index is a land valuation effort to produce a land to be utilized in accordance with the potential of the land. Through the Land Potential Index, land use is expected to produce optimal productivity and keep the land sustainable. This study aims to determine the spread of Potential Land Index in Sragen regency, and analyze the suitability of agricultural land potential with agricultural land productivity in Sragen regency. The method used in this research is field survey with GIS analysis quantitatively tiered and qualitative. Parameters used in the assessment of potential land, ie slope, soil type, lithology, hydrology, and disaster vulnerability. The results obtained from the Land Potential Index in Sragen regency are divided into 3 classes, namely low class area of 4.042,850 ha, located in Mondokan, Gesi, Tangen and Jenar Subdistricts; Middle class area of 57.854,816 ha, in Miri District, Sumberlawang, Mondokan, Sukodono, Gesi, Tangen, Jenar, Gemolong, Plupuh, and Tanon; And high class area of 37.555,776 ha, in Masaran Sub-district, Sidoharjo, Sragen, Ngrampal, Sambungmacan, Gondang, Sambirejo, Kedawung, and Karangmalang. The suitability of land potential with agricultural land productivity is dominated by the appropriate class, ie low grade and medium class, amounted to 30.559,001 ha (58,45 %). Non-conformity occurs in the potential of high-class land that has moderate productivity. Non-conformances are tested by external factors such as weather, pests, fertilizer use, and plant waste contamination.
