Abstract

Ulcus diabetic is the most common cause of amputation due to atraumatic incident. Neuropatic diabetes can induce the distribution of secondary abnormal pressure leading to the occurance of ulcers. This ulcers will extend to the underlying and adjacent surrounding tissue in several days. In some rare cases, the patients with poorly phisycal condition was more susceptible in experiencing muscles, tendons and bones damage due to ulcers. Quality of life is defined as a condition of a person who have excellent physical and mentality health, satisfied, live hapilly and can enjoy his or her normal daily life. It was a study to found out the relationship between the duration of suffering from ulcus diabetic towards the quality of life on patients with ulcus diabetic in RSUD DR. Moewardi. A quantitative experiment with correlative descriptive research design and cross sectional approach was performed. This study used purposive sampling method by involving 22 hospitalized patients with ulcus diabetic in the time of May till June 2017 in RSUD Dr. Moewardi. DQLCTQ-R (Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questioner-Related) was used as measuring instrument. It was revealed that the duration of suffering from the whole populations was known to be short. It also revealed that the majority of patients’ quality of life was poor (59.1%). As the conclution, there wasn’t any significant relationship between the duration of suffering from ulcus diabetic towards the quality of life on patients with ulcus diabetic by p value 0.312> 0.05
