Abstract
The research objective is to design the outer back door of Esemka Rajawali 2 by using reverse engineering method. Esemka car is one of the national cars that is developing in Indonesia. Esemka Rajawali 2 has a model SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) engined by Esemka 1.6L, 1,597 cc inline DOHC. Reverse engineering method is a method to get geometry data from existing products and reconstruct into three-dimensional drawing model. The three-dimensional model is then used to design the mold or dies. Dies design was done by using CATIA V5 software. The process of die making is important stage because it will be produced with a variety of desired body designs. The design of a car body is made up of various models, shapes, and constructions. After the mold design was completed then continued to do static analysis to find the stresses that occur in the dies. The research was succeeded in making three-dimensional models by using reverse engineering method. Die design was successfully createdusing CATIA V5 software. From static analysis results with a maximum of 50,000 N, the die was still in a safe condition based on the yield stress of the material.
