Abstract

This research was conducted in Baki District Sukoharjo District. The formulation of problems that arise from this research is how much land use change took place, how the pattern of settlement spread and what dominant factors influenced land use change in 2009 and 2016 in the research area. The purpose is to find out how much land use change occurs, to know the dispersion pattern of settlements and to know the dominant factors affecting land use change in 2009 and 2016 in the research area. The research method used in this research is secondary data analysis, map comparation analysis, and interview at sample point of land use change. The result of this research is the most dominant land change is the rice field become settlement with the width of change 40,5771 Ha. The pattern of settlement spread shows the pattern change in some villages, the villages are Waru, Purbayan and Jetis. Waru village which previously had a dispersed settlement pattern spread into a uniform distribution pattern as well as other villages. The dominant factors affecting land use change are population size, population density, accessibility, availability of socioeconomic facilities and land values.
