Abstract

Electronic media, which includes radio and television,changing the presence of print media that became the forerunner of communication devices used by humans. The presence of technology into human reference to update and facilitate their activities in communicating. The development of technology in the world, sparked human thinking to develop strategies in disseminating information. Some agencies or print media institutions, choose to build a radio station to increase the value of news sales and help people to recieve information from various typesof mass media, such as newspapaer, radio, television and news portals. Solopos, is a private agency who range in the dissemination of information and news in the city of Surakarta. Solopos has three types of mass medianamely, newspaper, radio and television, which are used to provide information to the public.In the application of information dissemination, Solopos became one of the information media that much enjoyed by the people in Surakarta. Awareness of reading Indonesian society is very much compared to other countries. The presence of media in the midst of society today that has the function of educating the community, must strive to create a smart and cultured nation with innovation and good strategy.Solopos as one media that combines radio and newspaper, should be able to assist the government in handling the lack of awareness of reading Indonesian society. The purpose of this study is to find out the presence or absence of the Kopi Pagi event exposure to the decision to buy Solopos and Soloraya newspapers, as well as to know how much influence that occurred on the exposure of Kopi Pagi news to the decision to buy Solopos and Soloraya newspaper. The method used is survey method with quantitative approach. The population in this study was taken from residents who live in Kartasura Sub-district amounted to 15.623 people. By taking a sample of 100 people. The technique of determining the sample using nonprobability sampling with the type of purposive sampling, so that only certain people selected to be samples. Data searching techniques were conducted with questionnaires, interviews and observations in Kartasura sub-district and in the Solopos office. Test results of normality test on variabel X (Kopi Pagi news) by 0,071 using Kolmogorov-Smirnov calculations, withan error rate of 0,05 (0,771 > 0,05), so then the variabel X is normally distributed. Test results of normality test on variabel Y (buying decision of Solopos newspaper) is 0,200 with an error rate 0,05 (0,200>0,05), so then the variabel is normally distributed.The test of validity with R table using R critical table that is 1,95. Testing reliability variable X (Kopi Pagi news) using Alpha Conbrasch is 0,771 (77,1%) and reliability testingon variabel Y is 0,787 (78,7%), This mean the variabels have a strong correlation coefficient. The determination coefficient test produces a value of 0,609 (60,9%), thismean the decision variable to buy newspapers Solopos influenced by the news coverage Kopi Pagi of 60.9%. While the rest (39,1%) is influenced by the other factors. The result of simple regression analysis test, get F value count equal to 152,488 while F table equal to 3,98 (152,488>3,98) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. This means Kopi Pagi exposure effect on the decision to buy Solopos newspaper. Test t produces a t count of equal to 12,349 while t tabel 1,987 with t_count>t_tabel (12,349>1,987) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. The results can be proven that the samples taken are representative of the entire population if the research is conducted throughout the community of Kartasura.
